This is a documentation subpage for Templat:UGC. It contains usage information, categories, interlanguage links and other content that is not part of the original templat page.

This general user category template displays a description of the category, instructions, and a table of user templates that add user pages to the category. The complete template syntax is:

{{UGC|desc=|utc=|template1|...|template25}}

where:

• desc= is an optional description of the category membership. (Default=category name)
• utc= is an optional user templates category name.
• template1|...|template25 – up to 25 optional user template names. (The Template: prefix is not required.)

Restriction

This template may only be used in a user category.

Example

Placing the following Wikitext:

{{UGC|desc=[[Wikipedia:Wikipedians|Wikipedians]] who identify themselves as a licensed [[Regulation and licensure in engineering|Professional Engineer]]|utc=Profession|User is PE|User PE}}

on the Category:Wikipedian professional engineers page produces the following text and table:

This user category comprises the user pages of Wikipedians who identify themselves as a licensed Professional Engineer.

To join this category, place one or more of the following Wikitext expressions on your user page:
